Refusal makes Iran look extreme and suspicious, making the offer makes the US look reasonable. It paves the way for sanctions and then removal of the regime.

Iran will never have a nuke, and if they do develop one they will be very sorry that they did. That's the bottom line, so the mullahs had better wake up and smell the coffee.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16538109.post-1149251374648739762006-06-02T08:29:00.000-04:002006-06-02T08:29:00.000-04:00If the regime is allowed to stall and appear as th...If the regime is allowed to stall and appear as though they're in control or making the rules, it will have been a mistake to do this.
I don't think we're going to allow that. I think the rules of the game have already been set and the regime will have to take it or leave it.
We'll see.Chesterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14422190301840492001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16538109.post-1149212398339535422006-06-01T21:39:00.000-04:002006-06-01T21:39:00.000-04:00According to Condi Rice, this is a final offer bef...According to Condi Rice, this is a final offer before isolation tactics begin. That's my understanding from listening to her press conference.

I believe that we have a strict plan with strict rules that Iran must abide by, so that they can't just say they'll go along with the agreement, and then not do so. The White House will not let the regime get away with that and waste time. Been there, done that. The regime is going to need to follow strict rules, no shenanigans. I think at the first sign of non-cooperation, the deal's off.

I think this is a diplomatic 'show'. No one believes the regime is going to agree, but it's necessary to go thru the motions and the hoops, in order to show other countries that we bent over backwards trying to get Iran to comply and they refused. But I think this is on a fast track, so Iran won't be able to stall for months.Chesterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14422190301840492001noreply@blogger.com
