Michael Ledeen

I had the honor of visiting the American Enterprise Institute in Washington DC today and also had the privilege to have an hour long meeting with Mr. Michael Ledeen and discuss ceratin issues with him and appreciate him for what he has done, so far, to inform the American public about the plight of the Iranian people.

Mr. Ledeen has been among a very handful of American scholars who truly support the freedom of Iran for no other reason than the good of Iranians and Americans. He knows that world security is tied to the fall of the islamofascists of Tehran. He clearly said he doesn't mind what the type of government Iranian people will choose in future and the only thing that matters is that Iran gets freed soon so that people can have a choice of having a responsible and democratically elected government.

I am very delighted to meet with Mr. Ledeen and I thought it is important to let him know that many Iranians thank him for what he does. I certainly do. I wish I could have a professor at school like him.

I think there's a limit to the number of professors like Ledeen who are allowed to be hired at universities. Conservative/republican/right-wing professors are hired to filled a diversity quota, so that the university can point to them and say that they have one or two and therefore their university teaching staff isn't ALL Liberal.

Seems to be a real freedom fighter:

Writing in The Nation, a left-wing magazine, Jack Hubermanm, who describes Leeden as "the most influential and unabashed warmonger of our time", attributes these quotes to Leeden:
"the level of casualties (in Iraq) is secondary"
"we are a warlike people (Americans)...we love war"
"Change—above all violent change—is the essence of human history"
"the only way to achieve peace is through total war"
"The purpose of total war is to permanently force your will onto another people"
"Every ten years or so, the United States needs to pick up some small crappy little country and throw it against the wall, just to show the world we mean business"

From the other side of politics, The American Conservative has claimed that Leeden has strong sympathies for Italian fascism and that "Ledeen’s careful distinction between fascist 'regime' and 'movement' makes him a clear apologist for the latter."
