You're right. Spending an extended period of time in a dictatorship/totalitarian country might make them appreciate the U.S. more.

Part of what I have been doing on this tour. I am telling ordinary Americans to appreciate the privileges they got as a result of the struggles of their forefathers, to hold their values dear and stop being apathetic and take part in the politics of their country.
I have told them to take the threat of Islamic fundamentalism seriously. Hope I have had some effect, but I will never be able to compete with the silly media they have here.
