Iranians Love America

Although written by a Liberal scholar from Chicago, the article has lots of great things about Iranian people's love and affection for America:
Iranians don't hate America. On the contrary, many of them envy Americans to an unrealistic degree and think of the US as a paradise, a land where no problems exist.
I disagree with some parts of it about Iranians defending the regime in case of a foreign attack but you can find positive things in the article too.

It's a good article but the author is living in a dreamland, I think:

Iranians are overwhelmingly in favor of normalizing relations with the US, but oppose any intervention in their nation's internal affairs. Forces seem to be aligning in favor of direct dialogue between the two estranged governments.

He seems to think that the problem between the US and Iran is the lack of diplomatic relations, whereas in reality the diplomatic relations were broken in 1979 for cause. A cause that has never been redressed. And there are 100 other additional grievances since then. And new ones every day. There will never be "normalized" relations between the US and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Agreed and the only reason to post it was to show how Iranians love America. That's the only good point in this leftist style article.

Thank God I am not the only one who felt Ali must be a liberal. He did write a very good article, however, I believe he would be more in favor of Jimmy Carter! Imagine that. He thinks America is the problem? Well, welcome to the club of America-haters. D'oh!

From Venezuela again: I am getting more and more nervous seeing the comparisons made by Winston and others! Hey, we even had Jimmy Carter here to supervise an election!LOL! But my point, When you purchase anything here you must show government ID. We are obviously, not Venezuelan. They often ask, "Where are you from?" when told we are from the USA, they ask,"Why are you still here, and how can I get a visa to go there?" It happpens over and over again.
Then, unfortunely, there are those who look at you with disdain or even call you names. These are usually the younger ones who have grown up under this regime and have been brainwashed in the schools.
