Russia under Putin is moving fast towards autocracy and its democratic civil society seems to be fighting back as hard as it can which is a good thing. Around 200 protesters detained and beaten in Moscow yesterday and among them was Gary Kasparov, former world chess champion, who is also leading the civil movement against president Putin's autocratic grip. Russia is sounding more and more like Iran....killing people who speak out against Putin, beating and arresting protesters, etc.
