Shiraz Explosion

The top news today is the explosion in the city of Shiraz in southern Iran where more than 70 people injured and 10 killed so far. More here

The regime's Fars news agency reports (in Persian language) that the target of the bombing was an Islamic Shia religious center that has had anti-Bahai, anti-Wahhabi information sessions/meetings every Saturday night for the past few years.

Now my guess is that this could be done by the regime to increase the crackdowns against the religious minorities including Bahais and Sunnis. This is my best educated guess so far. I'll try to keep you posted on this as it unfolds. Please come back for further details. Regime has done such crimes to scare the Iranian people of a possible loss of authority in Iran. Scaring people of the day where Mullahs are gone and insurgency and explosions keep happening in Iran just like Iraq.

Updated 1: According to an email from Shiraz to the Iran Press News web site, there have been 3 explosions and not one. Moreover, a high ranking cleric named Ayatollah Anjeevi-nejad, a city official, is among the dead.

Updated 2: The name of the center was "Rahpouyan e Vesal" which kinda means "God's Path Seekers". And the number of wounded people is now at 105.

Updated 3 (11:25 pm EST): Regime officials claim (Via Iran Press News) that the explosion was caused by left over ordnance from a previous military related fair that always being held in mosques and religious centers across Iran. Also the same website claims that the above mentioned high ranking cleric is all right and escaped the blast unscathed.

Pictures of the incident

Explosion was an accident, Iranian regime claims. (And I doubt that)

well, if they are admitting that the explosion was caused by left over ordnance from a previous military related fair , they can not claim that it was done by minority groups ....this may really be an outside job

WTF!

In America, we have a term for people who stockpile guns in their houses of worship: Dangerous Subversives. That's why the Clinton Administraton spent 51 days in Waco, TX and why I, even as a Republican, supported it (although I think they should have acted with force long before 50 days had gone by).

How can we trust them with Nuclear technology when they don't know how to safely store explosives in a public place?

Now, Kafir, you KNOW that Islam is the religious sheepskin over the wolf of world conquest by word-and-weapon! They go together there like Green Ham and Eggs! ;)

Azarmehr, Exactly! The mullahs who belong to 4th century can not be trusted with any thing that is of the 20th or 21st century. Mullahs should go back to their caves in Qom and Najaf and stay away from science and public life.
