Home

I'm back in Canada today after a short trip across France, Belgium and Holland. The best part of this recent trip was to visit Normandy and D-Day landing beaches. The other great part of the trip was to see how many Europeans are now aware of the threat of radical Islam in their midst. This makes me slightly hopeful about the future of Europe and that all this struggle against Islamism in the old continent might not be lost yet. The Europeans I came across were unhappy with the Russia's actions in Georgia and the influence that Russia has in W. Europe through its gas and oil exports. Undoubtedly, the Europeans will remain socialists and liberals overwhelmingly but it doesn't mean that they won't be able to rise to the future challenges. Europe as a whole is awakening and we shall see if they will recover...

I sure hope not. We need Europe to be strong, especially now with what's going on with Russia. I don't remember I time in my life where the global situation seemed so tense. Mind you, I spent the first 35 years of my life being a hopeless leftist, so I don't have accurate memories of anything during that time.
