The statement from Melanie is exactly how I feel. There has been an onslaught of anti-Palin sentiment in the elite press on both sides, but in the heartland she is a star. People paint evangelicals as zealots and that is simply not true. They are some of our greatest allies and they keep us humble. Every once in awhile we need to bring someone up through the ranks they can relate to. Their values reflected back at them. Palin could not be more extraordinary in her ordinariness. Just like Joe the plumber. Obama wandered into his yard and he asked Obama a question ... what people do not realize is it has nothing whatsoever to do with Joe the Plumber or his question -- but Obama's answer to the question. Rather than explain the answer they choice to destroy the questioner. Thugs.
