My dear friend and blogger in UK, Azarmehr, says the war between Israel and arabs is not the Iranian people's war. While I do understand his position as to why it is not our war. I'd also like to disagree and tell him that this war is indeed ours to a very large extent. Israel is the symbol of what we all cherish: freedom, humanity, arts, music, liberty, westernization, modernity and advanced science and technology. Gaza represent what all sane human beings dislike: Islamism, terrorism, religious repression, apartheid of all sort sexual or religious and most of all it is the ally of the Mullahs we have all been fighting day in and day out. How could any one say this is not our war. The path to democracy and human rights in Iran is through recognizing the Israel's existence and its right to defend itself against our common enemies. I stand by Israel in its fight against savage Islamists and in doing so it is important to mention that all these troubles come from one source: Islamic regime of Iran.
Mark Steyn has a great piece on the Israeli-arab crisis

Winston you are only half right- this is the Iranian people's war. The leaders of the regime we both despise are the reason for this war and this war will only truly end when the clerical regime falls.
Personally, I think the Jewish people will be the cause of the regime's fall. We owe a debt to Cyrus for restoring us to our land 2500 years ago; the time has come to repay Cyrus by freeing his people from tyranny.

I agree with every single word in your article, Winston. If we had been living in the Shah's time, we could have argued that this was really nothing to do with us (whilst tacitly supporting Israel).
Unfortunately, we've been dragged into this by the advent of the glorious Islamic revolution (in which the vile Palestinian terrorists played a large part: so it would be supreme irony to see them get f**ked, having being provoked by the very mullahs that they helped bring to power in the first place. Ah, revenge is sweet!) Am I sorry for ordinary Palestinians caught up in the crossfire? F**k, no.)
The only note of criticism I have is that you keep spelling 'mullah' with a capital 'M'. Don't give these animals the importance they don't deserve. You wouldn't spell 'rodent' with a capital 'R', would you?
:)
Ayatollah Ghilmeini, I hope the Jewish people help us get rid of these monsters.
Mehran, I have no sense of sympathy for any Islamic terrorist either.
they chose to isolate themselves economically, politically, and socially from Israel. They chose to listen to the Arab leaders when they told them to flee to Arab lands, when in return these Arab lands that "offered" refuge, choose to keep them as refugees to use them as tools in a propaganda war.
I say its completely their fault, and no one else. It sucks that they lost homes and lives, but they chose this bed, now they can sleep in it
Amen to all of you!
Depends what was interpretted as WE when I said this is not our war.
What I meant by WE, was the nation of Iranians who at the moment are sadly bound and led by this religious dictatorship. Our nation should say no to the adventurism of the government and say this is not our war. Judging by the small numbers who have turned up in the stage managed demos by Baseejis etc. it looks like this is exactly what the people are saying.
