65 yrs later

Today, June 6th is the 65th anniversary of D-Day landings in northern coast of France. Took the above photos when I visited the Normandy battle fields last summer. They're the American cemetery at Omaha, the Omaha beach and the famous Point Du Hoc. Only by visiting such sites one may truly appreciate the cost of freedom paid in blood of thousands of young men from US, UK, Canada et al. It was a privilege for me to visit it and I hope to return to see the rest of the battle fields of northern France once again.

I had no idea we had 73 000 men there until my mum told me. My grandfather was one of them. He made it through and back alive. Well done you for remembering them and taking these photos.
