The late Shah

Every 27th of July, we mourn the passing of a great man and a benevolent king who deeply cared about his country and his people. The late Shah of Iran will always be remembered for all good things he did and a modern society he helped create. Many of us are grateful and have not forgotten his dedication to Iran and his enduring love for the people. Rest in peace, Your Majesty! You're greatly missed...

Update: Photos from Cairo courtesy of Her Majesty's Shahbanoo Farah Pahlavi's website

We need to stop mourning and stop celebrating life. We celebrate the life-time achievements of this Great King and those of his father Reza Shah the Great. We are eternally indebted to their service. May they rest in peace and may Iran return to the path of progress and prosperity which Iranian society enjoyed during the Pahlavi Era.

Blessed is his pure soul, an indisputable visionary, progressive, protector of peace and most importantly an Iranian patriot.

@Sag

I am amazed how so many of his geopolitical predictions came true. He foresaw that his departure will bring civil war to Iran, which it did and Kurdistan, Baluchistan and Turkemans fought hard to separate. Another one of his predictions was that Mugabe will destroy Zimbabwe. Or he told us all that if the US leaves Iran to the mercy of Mullahs, no one would ever consider the US primacy in the world as a reliable source of alliance and partnership and I think this is exactly what we saw in 1990s and currently in yr 2009. I think he was a visionary alright.
