Ryan's foreign policy

Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI) has recently delivered a major foreign policy speech advocating the spread of liberty and American values around the globe. This is the part where he has mentioned Iran:
"In Syria and Iran, we are witnessing regimes that have chosen the opposite path [of reform]. Instead of accommodating the desires of their peoples for liberty and justice, these regimes have engaged in brutal crackdowns, imprisoning opposition leaders, and killing their own citizens to quell dissent."
Rep. Paul Ryan further notes the responsibility of us, the free people, to stand up for those whose voices can not be heard:
"We have a responsibility to speak boldly for those whose voices are denied by the jackbooted thugs of the tired tyrants of Syria and Iran."
Because if we don't speak for them, who will?
