10 Years Later...

Today is the 10th anniversary of the September 11th. terrorist attacks. It is a sad day. It is a tragic day. Looking back, I can't believe how much the world has changed and how much 9/11 has impacted our lives in unique ways.

But beyond all that, it is important to remember the innocent people who died on that awful day. Today is about the firemen who climbed the WTC stairs to rescue their fellow human beings trapped in a collapsing building. It is about the New York City police officers who rushed to help their fellow citizens. Those first responders were in a way like the soldiers who landed on the beaches of Normandy knowing they are going to die but they did it any way. It is beyond me to try to describe it. It is courageous and it is uniquely American. I salute them all and my thoughts are with the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Update: President Bush's speech at the Flight 93 memorial ceremony in Pennsylvania

I miss President Bush... A true leader!

AMEN! There were a few things that I didn't care for, like his weak stance on the southern boarder of the US and the bailout of the banks... but when it came to his handling of 9/11 .... thumbs up!
