Iran Protesting, CONTINUED

I am still hearing about the students protesting in Tehran and other major cities.

BBC Persian service ( BBC World - English ) is also reporting that the protests have been going on for the past four nights but no one knew about it in other parts of the city and this is correct as far as I checked with my friends in Tehran, and I was told that they had no idea if there was any uprising or unrest existing any where.

I also heard a caller on Persian service of Voice of America asking people to join the students if they can and another was saying that revolution of 1979 also started in city of Tabriz where there are major protests going on right now.

It seems the protests are still well underway in Tehran & major cities such as Ahwaz, Tabriz, Kermanshah

Shahram, a former law student at Tehran University, reports about the protest as well

That FarsNews report is funny.
They want people to believe that a small group of 20 to 30 people had a "protest gathering" and it took 40 policemen to control them some of whom were injured, Yet no one was arrested.

That's very funny! And if you believe it, I've got some prime real estate in the middle of the Dasht-e Kevir you might be interested in.
LOL!

Dear Winston: Fantastic contribution you're making. This news should be all over the blogsphere.

If the liberals and Democrats in my country (US) really want to prevent a war with Iran, then they need to support these protests. To bad they really don't give a f*ck about the people of Iran and would be perfectly happy if the mullahs stay in power just as long as we don't invade. They're too busy trying to impeach Bush. How many liberal blogs are posting these reports and showing support? How many conservative and milblogs are?

I second that, Joseph.

Dear Winston,
I was going to give you the link to my friend Korosh's site, until I saw you had already been there! He writes with me as well.

I have heard that many people are coming from all over Iran. There were over 2000 people there the other night into the morning. They had come from all over to support the students. Then the stupid Guard started beating them. Creeps.

I hope something comes of it because I've seen too many protests fizzle out in Iran - no doubt you'll have seen more.

You hit the nail on the head when you write: "These kids can't do much if they are not supported.". Sad, but true. If we in the West are really serious about regime change, we should be supporting Iranian dissidents with $$$ - especially as diplomatically we've reached a stalemate with the regime (although I hear Ahmadinejad wants to be pen-pals with George - fat chance).

Good to see you back on form - that essay on liberals you did had so many holes in it it made fishnet stockings look opaque in comparison. I missed the boat on that one, but will be all too happy to remind you of the 15% interest rates we had here in the UK under the Tories and the current unemployment rate under Labour. So much for liberals wanting to keep people in the sh1t so they keep voting for them...

If the students are successful at regime change in Iran it would avoid millions of deaths, let's hope.
