President Bush just delivered a speech setting new adjustments to make things work in Iraq. While I am not really happy with what US is doing regarding the Iranian regime. I am also disappointed that Pres. Bush cut it short of threatening mullahs for their misbehavings in Iraq.
Any troop surge is just wrong as long as Iranian & Syrian regimes are not dealt with. These two dangerous regimes are main trouble-makers in Iraq and no amount of US troops can work in Iraq unless they are overthrown and got rid of.

Iraq cannot be a success until the regimes next door in Syria and Iran are gone
I would not assume there are no plans afoot just because the Prez didn't advertize them. It seems to me a smart strategy would include the unexpected and the unexpected cannot, by definition, be publicized. I'd watch Israel closely or look for something perhaps coming off one those aircraft carriers stationed in the Persian Gulf when you least expect it. Hell, for all I know, maybe it was happening as Bush was speaking. One can always hope.
louise, I don't believe it until it really happens and I dont see any thing proving that. Nothing is happening with regards to Iran. Nothing...
I am now convinced that ,for some reason, America is not yet ready to see a real change in Iran. something fishy is happening!
Your right, something fishy is going down.
I hope you like fish.
Do Persians like fish?
Arabs don't seem to like fish? But they are about to get a whole boatload.
Or more.

Do you think it's possible that a coup could be in the near future?
Nope. i doubt it
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Multinational forces detained five Iranians in a pre-dawn raid of Tehran's diplomatic mission in the northern city of Irbil, Iraqi officials said Thursday.
5 Iranian consulate staffers detained in Irbil
I guess there is a benefit to not having diplomatic relations with Iran, after all. We don't need no steenking diplomatic immunity!
the biggest problem for all of us ist, das regime in IRAN.
i think you, all, know enough about it.

I think this raid went on while the President was on TV. Or close to it.
Surprise Iran! Ha Ha
DEBKAfile is a good website to watch. For those of you who don't know about it, it's an Israeli based intelligence report magazine which is usually pretty accurate. There's some interesting update on it today.
This one is particularly interesting.
And this one, too.
Well, I was wrong. I read today that I read that U.S. troops raided Iran’s consulate in the northern Iraqi city of Arbil, seized computers and documents and arrested five employees—all this shortly after the President’s speech. here is the link:

There's news of three explosions in a city very close to the Iraqi port city of Basrah. Iran is claiming that they were setting off landmines from the Iran-Iraq war era. Sounds fishy to me.
I suspect the Americans have sent a little surprise, delivered either personally or via an Iranian resistance group, into the Iranian terrorist stronghold where they (the Iranians) have been smuggling support of every imaginable kind into Basrah. Iran is trying to save face by coming up with barely plausible explanations.
