Doomed People
30 years ago today the late Shah of Iran left the country and the mad Islamofascists took over. The above video clip is taken on the very same day that His Majesty left the country. Watching it in horror, it is now clear that majority of those who took to the streets had absolutely no clue about what they really wanted. An ungrateful generation doomed itself and others. The following video is another evidence of the stupidity of a clueless generation who had no idea what it was looking for. I've come to believe that the few hardcore revolutionaries used Hamas like media tactics against the Shah and His Majesty was so fragile due to his illness that the chances of fighting back was almost zero.

A very sad time indeed
The 1970s: A garbage generation the world over.
Here was a man who truly loved his country, and wanted the very best of everything for his people. He was the best leader Iran could hope to have.
What does it say about a people who overthrow a secular, modernizing and peaceful regime like the Shah's, and replace it with a mad clerical monstrosity, with an idiot for president?
I don't understand why the Americans undermined him.
Foreign powers (U.S., U.K., France, Germany) supported the Islamist and Leftist forces in Iran to spread propaganda against the Iranian government, the late Shah of Iran, and instigate armed violence. Thousands of formerly non-affiliated Iranians fell for the lies and joined these backward anti-Iranian forces and contributed to the destruction of Iran while the silent majority sat idle too afraid and shocked to do anything.

Alison, the Commie Jimmy Carter and his aides were short-sighted and blinded by their hatred of the Shah. After all Carter, the worst president of the US, gave us this mess and he was a far leftie idiot like no one else. Watch out for Hussein Obama now.
What a stupid delluded generation!
The Shah recognized the Kurds and brought Iran into the twentieth century, educating the masses which included the women.
The Peacock Throne was returned to India and modern society was destroyed.
Thanks.
So you mean it was all tied into this US hatred of anything royal? Seen as a sort of liberation or revolution for good? Carter is that idiot I always read about screwing up in Israel over the Palestinians. I don't see why Bush should go down as the worst President in history.
On my old blog I used to follow the women's lib groups in Iran. They're so courageous. It breaks my heart that they got so little support (I helped raise the profile for Nazanin, don't know if you recall her).
I read one amazing story about a woman who was part of these crowds you are talking about. She believed in the revolution. After it she lost her job as a teacher at the university and was forced into a burqa etc. She tried to lead the fight against what had unfolded and regretted bitterly her support for ousting the Shah. In the end she imolated herself in a protest for women's rights. So tragic. If any of you know where I can get access to that story I would like to republish it. I don't seem able to find it anymore.
