Further Updates

The confirmed number of dead rioters stands at 8 today according to Radio Free Europe Persian section. And I've heard that so far, around 300 political activists have been detained. Among them are 2 of ex Pres Khatami's deputies.

The question now is what happens if the regime overturns the result of the sham (s)elections. Will people go back to their homes? I hope not. I am trying to tell my friends in Iran that their large and united crowds can do a lot further and a lot better. They shouldn't aim for the return of the results of the last (s)elections. They should aim for the heart of the regime. Of course, it is easy for me to say this. I am thousands of miles away and it is unfair for me to coach them in details. It's not up to me. But I can at least be hopeful that the momentum of this protest ends in removal of the mullahs for good.

Apparently foreign media are banned from reporting the riots. The regime has been working hard to prevent the people from communicating with each other and with the rest of the world.

Still no solid support from the coward idiot in the White House who thinks there's freedom and fair elections in Iran. Apparently Hussein Obama is not brave enough to side with the Iranian people. I am disgusted with him even more now. And again it goes to show that Democrats are, as always, in bed with the dictators and evil people. Shame on Obamble.

Updated: The rumors of bringing regular Army to Tehran is probably false. There is enough regular army force in Tehran. At least 2-3 divisions of the army are within Tehran city limits. Air Force, Navy and Army HQs are all in Tehran. So, this is BS. Plus, the army conscripts won't fight for the regime. The only force that will fight for the regime is IRGC & Basijis.

Updated: The revolutionary courts have told the relatives of detainees to stop the anti-regime riots if they want their loved ones back. Basically, regime is saying these are our hostages. Awful!

Hi Winston,
Terrible news on the deaths. Are they really 'rioters'? or demonstrators? They have been largely peaceful as far as I have seen.

Winston, do the people in Iran know other countries support them yet?

We had the Persian satellite TV on and they just showed the beheading of a 18-20 year old protester.

I am utterly disgusted and disturbed.

I don't care how sick I sound when I say this:
It would be my personal pleasure and honor to slowly torture the people responsible until their hearts give out from pain. How dare you even utter the name of god through your filthy mouth? How dare you walk this earth as a human being? You are a disgrace to the ground you walk on, to your parents, to society, to your country, to humanity, and to this earth.

Words cannot express the rage I am feeling right now.

@Suaumaun: That is absolutely horrific. Why is the West not reporting such beheadings?!!

Horrible... I have no words... I still see people here (europe) don't believe this all could be true... this is pretty much the same as denying the holocaust....

Check this out - LEBANESE hezbollahis and IRAQI sadrist mercenaries hired by IRANIAN GOVT to beat up IRANIANS (http://www.insideofiran.com/en/?p=2186).

Has anybody ever seen this in history?? please tell me if I am ignorant!

Congressman Mike Pence (R-IN) is introducing House Resolution 549, a resolution in support of the Iranian dissidents: http://www.mikepence.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3524&Itemid=71

If the tyrant in the White House who empathizes and wants to "dialog" with America's enemies refuses to support the new Iranian revolution, Congress will (we hope). The people rose to remove the oppressive regime in Romania; and, finally, the time has come for the Iranian people to throw off the shackles of oppression. It's not about Mousavi - It's about freedom.
