Regime's Network

Maclean's magazine has a piece about the 'Center for Iranian Studies' located in Toronto.
"The Center for Iranian Studies, located at 290 Sheppard Ave. W., was incorporated in January 2008. One of its three directors at the time was Fazel Larijani, who was then Iran’s cultural attaché in Ottawa. He is the brother of Ali Larijani, speaker of the Iranian parliament, and Ayatollah Larijani, head of the judiciary. Mahdi Shahrokhi, who works at the centre, says it still receives money from the Iranian embassy..."
I've emailed this story to the minister of Immigration Jason Kenney and the Public Safety Minister Vic Toews. Let's see if they'd be able to do something about this suspicious office in the heart of Toronto.

Update: Toronto Star has more on the story.

OT, Winston, what do you know about this website: http://en.irangreenvoice.com/

Jason Kenney rules as far as I'm concerned. He should be Prime Minister. By the same token, though, I do like what Harper is doing in the international arena.

Louise:

Seems like a typical regime backed "reformist" website.

Winston:

Good job on emailing those ministers, let's hope they give this IRI centre a good kick in the teeth.

Arash, I haven't heard anything back from them yet. But so far some national papers have picked up the story.

Having sent letters to Ministers of the Crown before, I can tell you it sometimes takes forever for them to reply.
